Creative Writing- a letter to Juliet
Dear my lovely Juliet,
Yesterday was the most amazing day of my life. You may ask why but it is quite simple; it is because you told me you loved me. I need you more then the night needs stars more then a child needs their mother but last night; I could not sleep, not because of what you said but because what will happen if we tell our family and friends. That is why I believe that it is best if we do not pursue our love and go our separate ways. My parents would disown me if they found out that I fell in love with a Capulet and I am sure yours would too. What if we do not truly love each other and this lust passes and then in the place of love grows hatred then whom will we turn too? All our friends will have turned their backs on us and our parents do not want to see our faces again. It is best if we leave now and remember last night as the night that we joined together with proclaiming our love for each other.
Oh, Juliet it pains me to write this letter, but I truly believe that this is best for both our families and us. I did not sleep trying to come up with an alternative plan that would not result in our parents and friends upset but us still being together. I could only come up with eloping to Manchuria to get married. But that means we would live in secret for the rest of our lives. We would never be able to come back to Verona to see our parents. You would never get to show off your ring or child to you sister and cousins. It is better if we just broke it off now before anything serious happens.
Our families have a past of hatred, anger and jealousy to each other. If we did go on with our forbidden love it would only end in tragedy for everyone. I do not want to be selfish and risk my family’s health and I am sure you would not either.
You will always be in my heart and mind. And if we ever cross paths again when our families have resolved their conflict, I hope you will be able to love me again. I will wait for you until that day. I will not object to you marrying Paris, you deserve a man like him. I wish you two all the happiness in the world.
